" Treacle" is a modern day version of a velocipede that were popular in days gone by. It is based on the large size fully carved rocking horse and is fitted with a blonde real horse hair mane & tail and a " C " style saddle and bridle of black leather with nickel plated buckles and fittings. The rear wheels and steering mechanism were hand built to fit and took quite a long time to finalise the construction issues involved. This prototype has taken approximately three years to evolve from the original " brain wave " to being ridden in our local Santa Claus parade on December 20, 2002. For those interested, I will be offering made to order velocipedes in the near future.
